Find out about current fashion trends and design your own clothes, be inspired by objects and stage your own stories about them, produce animated films or research a particular material in the MATERIAL LAB and then work with it yourself in a fully equipped studio, finding out about its many characteristics. The Gewerbemuseum Winterthur is the ideal place for school visits. Here, children and young people can discover the world of art and design for themselves.

Pupils find out about the interaction between crafts and design by using sandblasting techniques on glass, for example. Inventing new letters of the alphabet is an instructive way for them to experience the creative process. Preparing pigments and dyes teaches them how to experiment and observe. The museum offers a wide range of workshops on all kinds of topics, and also supplies teaching aids and materials to support class visits.

Activities for schools and teachers are held in German.
